SEOUL, May 30 (Yonhap) — CJ CGV announced Thursday that director Harry Hyun’s short film The Wrong Visitor has been chosen as the Grand Prize winner of its inaugural AI Film Contest.

The competition invited short films produced with generative artificial-intelligence (AI) technology. Winners were decided by a jury—director Eom Tae-hwa, writer Kim Jung-hyuk, science-content creator Gwedo, and director Jung Chang-ik—together with online audience voting.
The jury praised The Wrong Visitor as “an experimental narrative that tackles powerful symbolism and ontology using AI, the driest of tools. Its grotesque quality feels like a bizarre picture book brought to life.”
Director Hyun said, “While working on this film, I felt that an AI movie should be a Film with AI, not a Film by AI. I hope to share the possibilities of an AI-infused production environment with audiences.”
Additional awards went to:
Best Picture: 0KB (director Kang Dae-hyeong)
Excellence Awards: Galactic Cat Delivery (Kim Young-hyun) and Pinocchio: Begins (An Ye-eun)
CJ ENM Special Prize: Paper World (Kim Yoon-gak)
CGV will host a special summer screening featuring these five prize-winners plus four other finalists, for a total of nine AI films.
