Generative AI-based content production studio MooAm (CEO & Director Harry Hyun) has officially launched 'AFX Studio', a specialized production and R&D organization integrating AI and VFX.

'AFX (AI+VFX)' represents a hybrid production methodology that combines generative AI-created video with traditional post-production techniques—such as compositing, color grading, upscaling, and frame correction—elevating the content to a level immediately ready for commercial films and series.

With the launch of AFX Studio, MooAm is intensifying its R&D to meet the rigorous technical specifications and quality control (QC) standards required by global OTT platforms and commercial cinema. The studio will focus on effectively controlling and resolving persistent technical limitations of AI video generation, including resolution loss, flickering, and frame rate inconsistencies, through an optimized post-production pipeline.

To achieve this, MooAm is actively expanding its talent pool with experienced VFX professionals and continuously pursuing technical innovations to enhance the visual clarity and overall perfection of AI footage. MooAm defines AI not as a technology to replace existing workflows, but as a practical production tool that significantly boosts efficiency in tasks that traditionally required immense time and budget.

AFX Studio operates as a hybrid facility that researches and applies both generative AI and conventional post-production technology, including VFX, DI (Digital Intermediate), color grading, and compositing. Its core R&D areas align with key VFX processes, such as background expansion and replacement, set enhancement, character and object retouching, crowd generation, replacing stunt/hazardous shoots, and look development.

MooAm is currently producing AI and VFX shots directly used in commercial films and series, actively customizing practical assets tailored to each project's directorial vision. Furthermore, the company plans to organize seminars and workshops with industry creators, including filmmakers and VFX experts, to discuss practical implementations of AI technology.

"There must be a clear distinction between simply 'generating' video with AI and 'completing' it to a standard ready for theatrical release or OTT delivery," said a representative from MooAm. "Through AFX Studio, we aim to collaborate with industry engineers to build a reliable hybrid production system in the global commercial media market."

Meanwhile, MooAm is simultaneously advancing its original IP development. The studio is preparing for the late-2026 release of its hybrid feature film Genfluencer created with generative AI, while also pushing forward the production of its AI-driven feature project The Unchangeable. Moving forward, MooAm plans to feed the operational experience gained from both internal IPs and external commercial projects back into AFX Studio's R&D, expanding its applications across movies, series, exhibitions, and immersive content.
