[Press Release] MooAm Embarks on Global K-Drama IP Development Using AI Hybrid Technology

MooAm (CEO Harry Hyun), a production company specializing in AI content, is fully launching into the development of global K-Drama IP based on its AI hybrid production technology. In collaboration with creative institutions in drama production, distribution, and new media—such as COPUS KOREA and CODE CRAYON—MooAm will launch the '2026 AI Hybrid Production Lab' to present a new drama planning and development model that combines generative AI with live-action video production know-how.

This lab will be operated jointly by designated institutions and those selected through an open call. Moving beyond simple technical experiments or educational programs, the goal is to produce market-ready deliverables that can be utilized in the actual industry, including project proposals, scripts, pitching materials, and pilot videos. Notably, through collaboration with both established and emerging drama writers, the lab aims to discover novel original IPs. To convincingly present these to global investors, buyers, and platforms, MooAm will oversee the visualization strategy, AI-based pilot video production, post-production, and overall quality control.

MooAm is a content production company that has built an AI hybrid production pipeline by combining AI video generation tools with professional post-production workflows. Recently, the company proved the potential of AI-based feature film production by showcasing its AI hybrid feature film Genfluencer in the Canneseries Rendez-vous section. Building on this, MooAm is advancing its production infrastructure to visualize creators' imaginations more quickly and efficiently.

COPUS KOREA (CEO Oh Young-seop) and CODE CRAYON (CEO Park Ji-bok) are participating in this project. Each of the three companies possesses strengths in global distribution and drama production, short-form platforms and new media content, and content planning and directing, respectively. By combining these strengths with MooAm's AI hybrid production technology, they plan to accelerate the development of next-generation K-Drama IPs.

COPUS KOREA (CEO Oh Young-seop) is a content company that has grown based on the overseas distribution of Hallyu content, elevating the commercialization potential of drama IPs using its global distribution network and overseas market data. In the drama production sector, the company produced KBS2's Dali and Cocky Prince in 2021 and JTBC's The Tale of Lady Ok in 2024. In 2026, it is further expanding its content production capabilities by introducing JTBC's Rookie Chairman Kang and the webtoon-based drama One of a Kind Romance. Particularly, through the acquisition of Kim Jong-hak Production, it is accelerating its transition into a total content company encompassing both distribution and production.

CODE CRAYON (CEO Park Ji-bok) is a new media content company targeting the global micro-drama and short-form content market. Operating its own short-form streaming platform 'Shortime,' the company has established a content planning, production, and distribution model optimized for the mobile environment. It is also expanding into platform technology businesses, such as 'Shortime Studio,' which supports the establishment of enterprise-level streaming services. CEO Park Ji-bok, who previously served as the co-CEO of the drama production company Raemongraein, brings experience in traditional drama production and corporate growth. In this lab, he will present an IP development model that combines the stability of drama production with the fast pace of the short-form market.

Through this lab, MooAm plans to utilize AI not merely as a tool, but as a production infrastructure that expands creators' imaginations. By rapidly visualizing scenes and universes that were limited by traditional production methods using AI hybrid technology, MooAm envisions supporting the participating institutions' IPs to achieve higher completeness and pitching competitiveness in the global market.

Producer Ahn Sun-you of MooAm, who is in charge of operating this lab, stated, "AI hybrid production is not simply a means to reduce production costs. Meanwhile, the '2026 AI Hybrid Production Lab' is being promoted as part of the 'New Media & New Technology Content Lab Operation Support Project' by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA). This project is a program that utilizes advanced production technologies such as AI, XR, and virtual production to strengthen the planning and development capabilities of broadcasting and video content, supporting creators and production companies in developing content IPs with commercial viability and business potential.
