【National Agenda Task 103】 Promotion of Content as a Strategic National Industry for the K-Culture Era
□ Prime Minister Kim Min-seok visited the CJ ENM Studio Center, the nation’s largest production infrastructure facility located in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, on the morning of January 16 (Fri). The visit aimed to inspect the K-Content production site and listen to voices from the field regarding the overall industry.

ㅇ This visit marks the Prime Minister's second move to practice the "Government Close to the Field," as declared in his 2026 New Year's Address, following his visit to Nexon, a leading domestic gaming company.
ㅇ It was arranged to seek measures for strengthening competitiveness and convergence
between AI and the Content/Culture industries—key pillars of the 'ABCDE' (AI, Bio, Content/Culture, Defense, Energy) future strategic industries.
□ Prime Minister Kim first visited the VP (Virtual Production) Stage to experience the production environment utilizing virtual shooting technology firsthand.
ㅇ Prime Minister Kim remarked, "This site demonstrates the possibility that Korea can lead the global content production environment and showcases the future direction of the K-Content industry." He added, "I have realized how greatly AI and digital technology expand the imagination and efficiency of content creation."
□ Subsequently, Prime Minister Kim visited the set of the TVING original drama Proxy College Entrance Exam (working title), currently in production. He inspected the set construction process and filming status, receiving briefings on the planning and production of the work.
ㅇ Prime Minister Kim encouraged the on-site staff, stating, "Looking around the drama set that gives birth to the K-Content the world is enthusiastic about, I realized how much preparation and effort the creators and production crew put into every single scene that flashes across the screen."
□ After the site inspection, Prime Minister Kim held a meeting with industry representatives, including the CEOs of CJ ENM and CJ Corporation, new technology production companies, PDs, and writers. During this session, various opinions were presented, including practical suggestions for revitalizing the AI, OTT, and film industries amidst the rapidly changing global media environment.
ㅇ Prime Minister Kim stated, "The content industry combined with AI is expanding beyond competition between companies to a competition for dominance between nations." He announced that the government would actively support the establishment of a technology-innovative content industry ecosystem and emphasized the importance of fostering young talent to become an AI cultural powerhouse.
ㅇ Furthermore, Prime Minister Kim declared, "We will strengthen cultural cooperation between countries for the global expansion of K-Culture and actively identify ODA projects utilizing K-Content." He requested the active interest and participation of CJ ENM, a global content company, in these endeavors.
□ Following his visits to the game, broadcasting, and film sectors, Prime Minister Kim plans to further expand communication with young professionals in cultural content industries, including K-Pop.
